I’m an industrial copywriter who writes sales copy and marketing content for B2B industrial manufacturing companies

MY STORY

I’ve been working with manufacturers to grow their businesses for 35 years. And along the way, I’ve also owned and run retail and service businesses.

On a daily basis, I write lead gen emails, cold call emails, B2B emails, informative and relationship building emails, product pages, and articles.

On a regular basis, I create product information sheets and powerpoints. I’m an expert at customer retention.

I also kind of stand out in my sales rep profession. While other sales reps just crank out an email without spending much time on it, as a sales rep, I put my writing craft into my emails, and I’ve seen how this can pay off.

I’m a B2B copywriter who understands the nuances of selling business to business. My specialties are sales enablement, B2B emails, and article/blog writing.

I have over 35 years experience as an independent manufacturer’s representative, calling on retailers, wholesalers, contractors, designers, architects and more. I am the past president of Wood Energy Institute-West (WEI-W) and the Wood Heating Alliance of Colorado.

I also served for seven years in the role of industry negotiator working on clean air regulations for the hearth industry. As president of WEI-W I also negotiated on behalf of our group the merger of Wood Energy Institute West with the Hearth Products Association, resulting in what is now the Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Association (HPBA).

So what does this all mean for you?
Here’s how my experience and background can mean better sales and less hassle for you.

Persuasion. You can benefit from my years of learning to speak persuasively to business prospects. I’ll find out what your customers want, and match that up with your products and services. I’ll merge persuasive language with your business content, so your prospect will get the picture of how it’s going to improve their life.
• Cold calling as an art. I absolutely love cold calling. For me, it’s getting to meet a new person and learning about what their needs are. And I can teach this to others. Would you like your sales team to love cold calling?
• Writing Emails. Lots and lots of emails. Warm emails, cold emails, follow up emails, informational emails and more. Email is still a powerful force in marketing and it’s important to you that they get opened and read.
• Power Point Presentations. Once you have B2B customers, you need to train them. You’ll want someone who can put together slide decks that get positive results. Your customers will appreciate powerpoints that avoid the fluff and highlight what’s important. We want to avoid “death by powerpoint” at all costs!
• Creating Call Scripts. You know how important it is for your team to stay on track with your messages. A well thought out call script can help you to have consistent messages that result in sales. (I know because I’ve been in the same position you are, many times.)
• Sales Sheets. (AKA One-Sheets.) Creating a single page (or two page) document that highlights the features and benefits of a product or service makes it easy for your prospect to see “what’s in it for them.”
• Selling Guides. (AKA Battlecards, Talk Tracks, Playbooks, etc.) These are basic conversation outlines that are designed to give your salesperson the info they need to speak with authority about the products or service. It will include features and benefits, competitive advantages, overcoming objections, success stories, answers to common questions and more. It’s going into a conversation being prepared so there are no surprises to stumble on.
• Closing the Sale. A sale isn’t a sale until you have the order in hand. When it’s time to close the sale, you have to remind the prospect of exactly what they are getting and how it will improve their lives, and the details of the transaction.

What kinds of copywriting services do you offer?

I provide website copy, blog articles, email campaigns, product descriptions, case studies, white papers, and more. If you have a specific project in mind, let’s discuss how I can help.

Can you write for my industry?

Yes. I have experience with a wide range of industries—from manufacturing, retail, and service businesses to sports and photography. If I’m not familiar with your sector, I’ll do thorough research to be sure everything is accurate, engaging, and persuasive, so you’ll have the conversion rate you’re wanting.

How do we get started working together?

First, let’s set up a call or exchange emails to discuss your needs and goals. Then I’ll outline the project scope, send a proposal, and get started once you approve it.

What is your process for creating copy?

I start by learning about your business, audience, and objectives. Next, I research your market and competitors. Then I’ll draft the copy. You’ll have a chance to review the draft and can request revisions before final delivery.
